This user manual was written using epcEdit 1.1 and early versions of epcEdit 1.2 on Windows and Linux systems. The XML source conforms to the DocBook XML DTD Version 4.1.2.
Both printed and online versions of the manual were produced on a Linux system by using OpenJade and Norman Walsh's DSSL style sheets with a customized style sheet driver.
The HTML version was produced directly by jade. The printed version was produced by creating TeX input with jade. The resulting TeX source code was processed by jadeTeX, then converted to PostScript using dvips and translated into PDF with ps2pdf.
The screenshots were taken on a Windows 2000 system using the SnagIt utility. The online manual uses gif versions of the screenshots. For the print version, the gif files were converted to eps with the pbmplus tools.
The whole production process was controlled by a makefile so that up-to-date versions of the online manual and the printed manual could be created with a single command.
