The table structure is modified by table editor commands that perform the insertion or deletion of structural table elements such as table rows and table cells and manipulate the attribute values that control the table layout.
To invoke the table editor, follow these steps:
Place the insertion cursor in an element inside the table structure.
Select -> from the main menu or click the button in the toolbar.
After activating the table editor, the epcEdit window will look similar to Figure 11-1. Activating the table editor has the following effects:
The table editor will appear in the upper half of the document window and show the current layout of the table that you are editing.
A second toolbar with table-related functions will appear below the main toolbar.
The document window will be disabled until you hide the element manager again. Editing is restricted to the content of the table cells shown in the table editor.
The table editor splits the document window into two panes and uses the pane in the upper half of the document window to display the table layout. The document text remains visible in the lower half of the document window. You can resize the panes by dragging the pane separator with the mouse.
Direct editing of the document text in the lower pane is disabled as long as the table editor is active. Any changes to the table content in the table editor, however, will be reflected in the document text and shown in the content of the document pane.
