
The command toggles whether epcEdit shows the markup tags in the document window or not.
Invoking this command turns the display of tags off (if they are on) or on if they are currently off. The status of the tag display option is reflected by the check mark to the left of the menu entry. The check mark is shown if tags are displayed; the check mark is hidden if not.
Turning markup tags off affects both the on-screen display of your document and printing. If you wish the markup icons to occur in a printout, turn them on before issuing a print command. Turn them off before printing if you do not want them to appear in your printout.
The command toggles whether epcEdit shows attributes and their values in the element tags in the document window or not.
Invoking this command turns the display of attributes off (if they are on) or on if they are currently off. The status of the attribute display option is reflected by the check mark to the left of the menu entry. The check mark is shown if attributes are displayed; the check mark is hidden if not.
Due to the limited space in table cells, attributes and their values are never shown in element tags inside of the table editor.
The command toggles whether epcEdit shows entity references by the name of the entity or if entity references are shown as their replacement characters (if defined).
Invoking this command turns the display of entity names off (if they are on) or on if they are currently off. The status of the entity display option is reflected by the check mark to the left of the menu entry. The check mark is shown if entity names are displayed; the check mark is hidden if not.
Expanded text entities (see Entities) are always displayed within a pair of text entity delimiters that show the entity name.
The command toggles whether epcEdit shows the document tree in the pane to the left of the document window.
Invoking this command hides the document tree (if it is shown) or displays the tree if it is currently hidden. The status of the document tree is reflected by the check mark to the left of the menu entry. The check mark is shown if the tree is displayed; the check mark is hidden if not.
The command toggles whether epcEdit shows the table editor or not. This command is only available if the insertion cursor is located within a table structure.
Invoking this command hides the table editor (if it is visible) or displays the table editor if it is currently hidden. The display status of the table editor is reflected by the check mark to the left of the menu entry. The check mark is shown if the table editor is displayed; the check mark is hidden if not.
Activating the table editor disables the document window: While the table editor is shown, all operations are restricted to the table structure that is displayed above the document window. Please refer to Figure 11-1 for more information about the table editor.
The command toggles the page display mode. If this mode is activated, epcEdit will display a left margin and break the document text at the right margin as defined by the settings in the Page layout dialog (Page Layout) .
The current layout mode is reflected by the check mark to the left of the menu entry. The check mark is shown if the the current layout mode respects the page layout settings; the check mark is hidden if not.
The command lets you edit the source code of your document. If this command is invoked, epcEdit will switch into text mode and reload the source code of your document. Please refer to Text-mode editing for more details about editing a document in text mode.
The bottom of the menu is occupied by the list of currently open windows. You can easily switch to another window by selecting the appropriate entry from this list.
